Position Responsibilities

Guest Room Housekeeping

Help ensure every guest arrives to a clean, comfortable, and properly prepared room.

Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning and preparing guest rooms between reservations.
• Changing bed linens and making beds.
• Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, showers, tubs, and fixtures.
• Replenishing towels, toiletries, coffee supplies, and guest amenities.
• Dusting furniture, cleaning mirrors, and maintaining room presentation.
• Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Checking rooms for missing items, damage, or maintenance concerns.
• Ensuring rooms are clean, organized, and ready for arriving guests.

Common Areas & General Building Cleaning

Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the Inn’s shared spaces, including:

• Lobby and guest entrance areas.
• Hallways, staircases, and landings.
• Public restrooms.
• Common guest areas and gathering spaces.
• Other designated areas throughout the building.

Routine cleaning includes sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, emptying trash, and keeping the building clean and presentable.

Detailed Cleaning & Special Projects

In addition to routine cleaning, some areas of the building require occasional extra attention.

Responsibilities may include:

• Cleaning baseboards, trim, woodwork, windows, and other architectural details.
• Dusting fixtures, ledges, and areas not typically covered during routine cleaning.
• Completing assigned deep-cleaning tasks using appropriate products and methods.
• Recognizing areas that need additional cleaning and taking the initiative to address them.

Schedule & Work Environment

The position includes two primary types of work:

Weekday Cleaning: Regularly scheduled hours focused on routine building cleaning, common areas, and detailed cleaning projects. There is ongoing work throughout the property, and priorities may change from day to day.

Guest Room Housekeeping: Cleaning and preparing guest rooms between reservations. This work is based on guest bookings and may require weekend availability. Weekend hours are not necessarily required every week.

Some flexibility is necessary, particularly when guest rooms need to be prepared for incoming reservations.

Hours may vary somewhat depending on hotel occupancy, events, and property needs.

Previous hotel housekeeping or professional cleaning experience is preferred but not required.

We are more interested in finding someone who is dependable, hardworking, and takes pride in their work than someone with extensive experience.
