We strive to provide our guests with an exceptionally clean, safe, and friendly hotel experience. The following hotel policies and rules have been established based on industry standards, management and operational procedures, and our personal experience of owning and operating the Clinton Inn. These Hotel Policies/House Rules are considered a part of our reservation agreement with you. As our hotel guest, by booking a room with us, you are agreeing to abide by all of our Hotel Policies/House Rules, terms and conditions, and procedures. These Hotel Policy/House Rules are presented here to help promote our guests’ safety and enjoyment and to ensure that each guest is aware of the understanding between the Clinton Inn and the guest. Our Hotel Policy/House Rules are subject to change without prior notice. Our current policy will always be published on our website at https://theclintoninn.com/rules.

IN CASE OF EMERGENCY OR FIRE

Please use your best discretion and notify staff by calling (517) 507-5777 and/or calling 911 in the event of a fire or another emergency.

3RD PARTY RESERVATION AND BOOKING POLICY

This policy applies to all reservations booked through third party travel platforms including, but not limited to, Expedia (and all affiliated / owned Expedia sites such as Travelocity, Hotels.com, etc), Booking.com, AirBNB.com, or any site that is not owned and operated by The Clinton Inn.

  • A fully refundable Incidental and Damage Deposit (“Deposit”) of $250 (USD) is collected prior to your scheduled stay at The Clinton Inn. Hotel Guest (“Guest”) authorizes this amount to be charged and collected at time of, or prior to check-in.
  • Access to The Clinton Inn (“Property”), as well as all required check-in information and access details, is provided once receipt of the security deposit is confirmed.
  • Upon departure, if the Property is returned undamaged beyond normal wear and tear, the Deposit will be refunded in full.
  • In the event of any damages, Property will provide Guest with a full accounting of expenses incurred and deductions made from the Deposit. Should the damages exceed the amount of the deposit, the Guest authorizes the additional amounts to be charged to the credit card provided at check-in. If the credit card fails for any reason, Guest agrees to pay the balance within 5 days after receiving the invoice itemizing all charges. Property is under no obligation to use the least expensive means of restoration.
  • Damages that will forfeit the Deposit include, but are not limited to: violations of any hotel policy that causes damage to Property such as our No Smoking Policy, No Pet Policy, Room Damage and Theft Policy, etc.
  • Damages incurred that require restoration will incur an additional “Loss of Use” fee at the rate of $175 per day (USD) required to correct the damage and restore Property it to a usable state.
  • This provision is supplemental to the entire Hotel Policy and does not negate or cancel out any other provision or policy outlined herein.
  • Cancellations and changes to reservations must be done through the same third-party site where the reservation was made. Cancellations and changes are subject to the cancellation policy on that site.

PET POLICY – NO PETS ALLOWED

We have a strict “No PET” policy. Pets of any kind are not allowed anywhere on the property at the Clinton Inn, including hotel rooms. Violation of the pet policy will incur a $250 cleaning fee, eviction from the property, and forfeiture of all monies paid for accommodations.

ADA AND SERVICE ANIMALS

In compliance with Michigan state law and the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), people with disabilities may bring their registered service animals to accompany them throughout our facility without restriction. As a courtesy to staff and other guests, service animals should be easily identifiable as such. Any damage to the property caused by your Service Animal will result in additional charges or fees according to our Room Damage and Theft Policy.

NO SMOKING POLICY

Per Public Act 188 of 2009, Michigan’s Smoke-Free Air Law, smoking is prohibited in all restaurants, bars, and businesses including hotels and motels. As such, the Clinton Inn is 100% smoke-free. ALL types of smoking are prohibited including smoking tobacco, marijuana, illegal drugs, e-cigarettes, vape pens, vaping, cartridges containing the liquid of nicotine, hookahs, incense, cooking, cigars, candle burning, the use or diffusing of patchouli oil or other strong-smelling plant-based essential oils or synthetic products in our facility. Smoking of any kind is prohibited anywhere on the premises, including in private hotel rooms. Guests are encouraged to call (517) 507- 5777 and notify staff immediately if they smell cigarettes, marijuana, or other objectionable odors.

A Designated Smoking Area is provided outside and away from the building. Guests may smoke outside on the public sidewalk at least 20 feet away from any entrance to the building. Violations of this policy will result in immediate eviction from the property and a formal complaint will be filed against you with local law enforcement. A cleaning fee of $350 will be assessed as well as a “loss of room revenue” fee for the duration of the cleanup period. Additionally, any payments for services or accommodations at the Clinton Inn will be forfeited and non-refundable.

CANDLES, INCENSE, AND ESSENTIAL OILS

Candles, incense, and essential oils (diffusing, vaporizing, etc.) are prohibited. These items and activities will be treated as smoking, a fine accessed, and the guest may be evicted with no refunds.

RESERVATIONS AND CANCELLATION POLICY

PAYMENT AND RESERVATION

Payment in full is collected at the time of reservation, not at the time of check-in. Checks and foreign currency are not accepted. All reservations must be made with a valid major credit card and paid at the time of booking. Guests must be 18 years and older. We accept Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover Card.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

We will make every effort to honor special requests such as air mattresses, check-in times, and special accommodations. When you make the reservations using our online reservation form, please include any requests so we can prepare for them ahead of time. Note that some requests may incur additional fees. We do attempt to accommodate all requests, however, we cannot guarantee this.

DEBIT CARD/CREDIT CARD HOLDERS

The Clinton Inn has no control over the policies of your bank and will not be held liable for any “Insufficient funds” penalties or any other resulting fees or charges. It is your responsibility to fully understand the manner in which your bank processes charges to your debit or credit card. It is your responsibility to fully understand the manner in which your bank processes preauthorization and charges to your credit/debit card. Some banks hold pending authorizations for up to 30 business days.

MICHIGAN USE TAX / TAX EXEMPT GUESTS

Per the State of Michigan tax code, the Clinton Inn charges Michigan Use Tax at the rate of 6% of the total accommodation cost. Any guest that is tax-exempt must provide tax-exempt documentation to us prior to check-in. If tax-exempt status cannot be verified, you will be charged a lodging tax until verification is made. Documentation can be faxed to us at (517) 507-5777 or emailed to hotel@theclintoninn.com. Our reservation website does not allow tax-exempt reservations to be made. We will make an adjustment to the charges after you have checked out, provided proper documentation has been received.

ROOM RATES

All rates are quoted in United States currency, plus tax and any fees. Rates, as advertised on the Clinton Inn website, any other website, or in any promotional material, are subject to change at any time and may increase or decrease at the hotel’s discretion. Rates are subject to availability and may increase or decrease without notice.

CHECKS AND CHECK CASHING

We do not accept checks of any kind. We do not provide check cashing services.

DISCOUNTS AND PROMOTIONAL CODES

We currently do not offer discounted room rates for participation or employment in organizations such as AAA, AARP, government employees, etc. We do offer automatic discounts based on a variety of criteria, including extended stays and corporate travel. If a discount is available, the discount will be automatically applied and disclosed to you in the details of your Reservation.

We occasionally offer promotional codes that may be entered at the time of booking. Any discount relevant to a valid code will be applied at that time.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We have a strict 72-hour cancellation policy.

Reservations must be changed or canceled seventy-two (72 hours) prior to 3:00 pm on your scheduled arrival date in order to avoid forfeiture of all fees collected for the entire duration of your scheduled stay.

Reservations changed or canceled more than 72 hours prior to 3:00 pm on your scheduled arrival date will not incur any fees or penalties, and all monies will be refunded in full. You must call the Clinton Inn at (517) 507-5777 to cancel your reservation. We DO NOT ACCEPT cancellations via email. Our online system does not have the ability to cancel any reservation. Do NOT EMAIL any request for cancellation, it will NOT BE received and it WILL NOT BE HONORED.

The Clinton Inn is not responsible for weather conditions, personal emergencies, schedule changes, or reservations made in error.

NO SHOW CHARGES

We treat no-shows the same as if you had arrived as normal and completed your stay with us. We do not refund any amount due to a no-show situation. All payments made to us will be forfeited and non-refundable.

EARLY DEPARTURE

We do not refund any fees or payments made in the event of early departure.

GROUP RESERVATIONS

Large group/Block reservations of 3 rooms or more must be canceled eight (8) weeks prior to arrival date. Reservations canceled after that date may be charged one (1) full room charge plus, tax for each room reserved and the balance of their reservations canceled.

GUEST REGISTRATION

We require valid contact information from the guest making the reservations including first and last name, address, and phone number. The names of all guests occupying the room must also be registered at the time of booking.

CHECK-IN POLICY AND PROCEDURES

CHECK-IN TIME

Check-in time is 3:00 p.m.

EARLY CHECK-IN

Early check-in may be accommodated on a case-by-case basis, however, cannot be guaranteed.

ROOM KEYS

Room Keys, if applicable, are standard metal keys and are issued to the registered guest(s). One key is provided per room. A fee of $50 will be charged for any lost keys or keys not returned after departure.

CHECK-OUT POLICY AND PROCEDURES

CHECK-OUT POLICY

Unless arranged otherwise in advance, check-out time is 11:00 a.m. on the date of your registered departure. Your room rental period expires at this time. Timely check-out on the day of your departure ensures that we are able to clean and prepare the room in anticipation of the next guest’s arrival.

LATE CHECK-OUT OPTION

You have the option of selecting a late check-out when you book your reservation online for an additional fee of $20. Late check-out extends your occupancy until no later than 3:00 pm on the date of your scheduled departure.

LATE CHECK-OUT

Hotel management, at their sole discretion, may charge an additional fee of $50 to your total stay if you choose to check out after the agreed-upon check-out time.

Any check-out later than 3:00 pm constitutes an additional night’s stay and will be charged accordingly. The price for the additional stay will be our current published rate for the room and the date it applies.

FAILURE TO VACATE

Any party refusing to vacate the premises after the agreed-upon check-out time may be subject to trespass and removal by local law enforcement.

CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE

Instructions for check-out are provided to each guest at the time of stay.

HOUSEKEEPING POLICY / ROOM ACCESS

For security purposes, liability, and risk management, unless as noted below, management and staff DO NOT and WILL NOT ENTER your hotel room, unless explicitly and specifically requested by you or a registered guest for the duration of your stay.

TOWELS, TOILETRIES, AND BATHROOM SUPPLIES

If you are in need of any additional towels, toiletries, or other bathroom supplies, please contact us at (517) 507-5777 Option 1. Towels are exchanged, and other supplies are provided on request at no additional charge.

HOUSEKEEPING

As mentioned above, unless specifically requested, housekeeping is not provided daily and we will not enter your room unless requested. We will perform full housekeeping ONLY at your specific request and/or under the following terms:

  • On request, housekeeping is provided at the rate of $30 per service.
  • If Housekeeping is requested and we are unable to properly access items, or unable to change bedding due to personal items left in the way, a note will be left stating as such. We will not handle any personal items or personal property for the security and safety of our staff.

PRIVACY AND ACCESS TO ROOMS

Management and staff of the Clinton Inn reserve the right to enter a room for reasonable purposes, such as an emergency, you have requested housekeeping, or urgent maintenance/repairs.

The right to privacy ends when a Hotel Policy/House Rule is broken or if illegal activity is suspected or has occurred. Management has the right to verify that the room, its furnishings, and mechanical equipment are intact, or to address or prevent a violation of our Hotel Policy/House Rules.

In the event of suspected illegal activity, management reserves the right to enter your room and/or summon law enforcement to aid in an investigation and/or eviction. Law enforcement will be granted immediate access to hotel property and rooms of evicted guests.

ALCOHOL SALE AND CONSUMPTION POLICY

The Clinton Inn is a facility licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission under a RESORT-B Hotel License. As such, our policies are written to comply with all state laws and regulations.

AGE REQUIREMENTS TO PURCHASE OR CONSUME ALCOHOL

We only serve alcohol to guests 21 and older, and any consumption of alcohol on the premises is restricted to those 21 years old or older (valid photo identification required).

REMOVAL OF PURCHASED ALCOHOL FROM PREMISES

Except as noted below, no alcoholic beverages may be removed from the premises if they were purchased at the Clinton Inn.

  • An alcoholic beverage served in a designated “Village of Clinton Social District” cup may be taken off-premises and consumed within the designated Village of Clinton Social District.
  • A bottle of partially consumed wine may be corked by a staff member and then removed from the premises by the guest. Per the Michigan Liquor Control Code, 436.2021: “Subsection (2) except as otherwise provided in subsection (3), a purchaser shall not remove alcoholic liquor sold by a vendor for consumption on the premises from those premises. Subsection (3) A vendor licensed to sell wine on the premises may allow an individual who has purchased a meal and who has purchased and partially consumed a bottle of wine with the meal, to remove the partially consumed bottle from the premises upon departure. This subsection does not allow the removal of any additional unopened bottles of wine unless the vendor is licensed as a specially designated merchant. The licensee or the licensee’s clerk, agent, or employee shall cap the bottle or reinsert a cork so that the top of the cork is level with the lip of the bottle. The transportation or possession of the partially consumed bottle of wine shall be in compliance with section 624a of the Michigan vehicle code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.624a.”

OUTSIDE ALCOHOL (PURCHASED ELSEWHERE) BROUGHT INTO THE HOTEL

We allow registered guests of the Hotel to bring alcoholic beverages, purchased elsewhere, into the Clinton Inn and consumed in the privacy of your hotel room. We do not allow outside alcohol to be consumed anywhere else in the building including the Restaurant, Coffeehouse, or any of the common areas. Open containers of alcohol are not allowed to be brought into or consumed anywhere in the building.

Per the Michigan Liquor Control Code, 436.2021: “(4) This act and rules promulgated under this act do not prevent a class A or B hotel designed to attract and accommodate tourists and visitors in a resort area from allowing its invitees or guests to possess or consume, or both, on or about its premises alcoholic liquor purchased by the invitee or guest from an off-premises retailer and does not prevent a guest or invitee from entering and exiting the licensed premises with alcoholic liquor purchased from an off-premises retailer.”

PURCHASING ALCOHOL FOR HOTEL ROOM

We allow registered guests of the Hotel to purchase alcohol from the Restaurant at the Clinton Inn and bring it to their hotel room. However, no alcohol may be removed from the premises unless it meets the requirements noted above.

FIREARM AND WEAPON POLICY

The Clinton Inn is a facility licensed by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission under a RESORT-B Hotel License. As such, our firearm policy is structured to strictly comply with the law as outlined in the Michigan Penal Code:

THE MICHIGAN PENAL CODE (EXCERPT) Act 328 of 1931

750.234d Possession of firearm on certain premises prohibited; applicability; violation as misdemeanor; penalty.

Sec. 234d.

(1) Except as provided in subsection (2), a person shall not possess a firearm on the premises of any of the following:

(a) A depository financial institution or a subsidiary or affiliate of a depository financial institution.

(b) A church or other house of religious worship.

(c) A court.

(d) A theatre.

(e) A sports arena.

(f) A day care center.

(g) A hospital.

(h) An establishment licensed under the Michigan liquor control act, Act No. 8 of the Public Acts of the Extra Session of 1933, being sections 436.1 to 436.58 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.

(2) This section does not apply to any of the following:

(a) A person who owns, or is employed by or contracted by, an entity described in subsection (1) if the possession of that firearm is to provide security services for that entity.

(b) A peace officers.

(c) A person licensed by this state or another state to carry a concealed weapon.

(d) A person who possesses a firearm on the premises of an entity described in subsection (1) if that possession is with the permission of the owner or an agent of the owner of that entity.

(3) A person who violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 90 days or a fine of not more than $100.00, or both.

FIREARM POLICY

The Clinton Inn recognizes that guests and vendors may legally possess firearms or weapons for a variety of legitimate purposes. Per the Michigan Penal Code cited above, guests who are lawfully permitted to possess a firearm or weapon may bring such onto our hotel premises. We ask that anyone bringing a firearm onto our premises follow these additional guidelines:

  • No cleaning of firearms is permitted on hotel premises.
  • Please keep all weapons holstered unless the need arises. In such a case, judicious marksmanship is appreciated.
  • Discharge of your firearm, whether accidental or not, will be interpreted as an aggressive act, appropriate countermeasures will be taken, and the incident will be reported to authorities.

Guests who fail to abide by our policy will be asked to leave the hotel premises, are subject to trespass, and may be subject to further legal action.

OTHER WEAPON(S) POLICY

The Clinton Inn does not restrict guests from carrying on their person or bringing into their room, any weapon that is legally allowed by local, state, and federal laws. Guest is expected to have common sense for handling weapons, and abide by all laws related to the handling, storage, and use of the weapon(s). Any aggressive or confrontational action related to any weapon will be handled by local authorities and to whatever degree that is appropriate.

LEFT BEHIND OR LOST WEAPONS

It is our policy to promptly turn over any firearms or other weapons left on the property to the Clinton Police if we are unable to contact the owner. Questions concerning these policies or their implementation may be addressed to the hotel owners directly (517) 507-5777.

LOST & FOUND POLICY

The Clinton Inn assumes no liability for lost, misplaced, stolen, or damaged valuables or belongings. If you discover that you have left behind something of value to you, please call us immediately at (517) 507-5777 or hotel@theclintoninn.com. We will do our best to help you locate your lost item(s).

FOUND ITEMS

The Clinton Inn is not responsible for any item left behind by a guest. However, any item, with the exception of perishable items, left behind by our guests and found after departure by Housekeeping will be collected, logged in, and kept in a secure location for collection by the owner for up to fourteen (14) days. Records of Lost & Found items are retained for five years. Reasonable effort will be made to notify the guest that an item has been found. Perishable items, underwear, and miscellaneous toiletries are discarded.

UNCLAIMED ITEMS/NO CONTACT

Lost & Found items are held for fourteen (14) days while we attempt to contact the guest. If found items are unclaimed, or if contact with the guest by various means is unsuccessful (Including guest contact information is incorrect, cell phone mailbox is full, no response to an email, etc.) during the fourteen (14) day holding period, the unclaimed item(s) are thrown away, given to local organizations, or disposed of at the sole discretion of the Clinton Inn.

RETURN OF LOST ITEMS

Any lost item(s) may be claimed in person at the Clinton Inn with proper identification. If you are unable to collect the item(s) in person, we are happy to ship them to you via the United States Postal Service (USPS) as long as the items are not restricted or prohibited. We do not ship UPS or FEDEX. We charge a $25 packaging and service fee plus the actual postage required to ship your package. We will ship your package with tracking, however, the Clinton Inn is not responsible for any item lost or misdirected during shipment by the United States Postal Service. Please contact the USPS Customer Service Department at 1-800-275-8777. The tracking number will be provided to you once your item(s) have been shipped.

ROOM DAMAGE AND THEFT POLICY

NO COOKING, COOKING APPLIANCES, COMBUSTIBLES, OR FIREWORKS

The safety of our guests, staff, and this facility is extremely important to us. Except for the microwave, refrigerator units, coffee makers, or other equipment that the hotel provides to you, preparation of food in guest rooms by any type of cooking appliance is prohibited. A minimum fee of $300.00 will be charged for cooking in a room, including, but not limited to hot plates, toaster ovens, water heaters, rice cookers, combustible, open flame, barbecue grill, burners, heating appliance, or any other item intended for cooking. Open fires, flames or cooking grills, either charcoal or gas, and fireworks are not allowed anywhere on hotel property.

DAMAGE AND/OR THEFT OF HOTEL PROPERTY

You are liable for any damage howsoever caused (whether by the deliberate, negligent, or reckless act) to the room (s), hotel’s premises, or property caused by you or any person in your party whether or not staying at the hotel during your stay. The Clinton Inn reserves the right to retain your credit card and/or debit card details as presented at booking and charge or debit the credit /debit card in such amounts as it shall in its sole discretion deem necessary to compensate or make good the cost or expenses incurred or suffered by the Clinton Inn as a result of the aforesaid.

THEFT / DAMAGE TO ROOM

Damage to rooms, fixtures, furnishing, and equipment including the removal of electronic equipment, towels, blankets and bedding, artwork, etc. will be charged at 200% of full and new replacement value plus any shipping and handling charges. Any damage to hotel property, whether accidental or willful, is the responsibility of the registered guest for each particular room. Any costs associated with repairs and/or replacement will be charged to the credit card of the registered guest. In extreme cases, criminal charges will be pursued.

DAMAGE DISCOVERED AFTER CHECK-OUT

Guest Rooms found with waste strewn around, in complete disorder, and/or “trashed” will be subject to maintenance deep cleaning fees, administration fees, and/or third-party fees. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc. A detailed invoice will be provided outlining all charges that are assessed.

DAMAGE TO MATTRESSES AND BEDDING

Damage to mattresses and linen including; towels, mattress pads, sheets, bedspreads, table cloths, and blankets resulting from the use of body oils, make-up, shoe polish, spilled beverages, etc. will result in a charge for the special cleaning, repair or replacement of the damaged article.

DAMAGE OR TAMPERING WITH FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS/FIRE-FIGHTING EQUIPMENT

The Clinton Inn reserves the right to take action against any guest or visitor found to have tampered or interfered with any detection equipment throughout the hotel, including detector heads in public areas, guest rooms, break glass points, and fire extinguishers. Guests or visitors found to have tampered with any fire detection or fire-fighting equipment will be charged with any costs incurred by the hotel due to their actions and will be evicted from the hotel. Depending on the severity of the guest’s actions, law enforcement may become involved at the hotel’s discretion. If it is discovered that fire-fighting or detection equipment has been tampered with after the guest has departed, we reserve the right and you hereby authorize us to charge your credit or debit card for any damage incurred to your room or the Hotel property during your stay, including and without limitation for all property damage, missing or damaged items, smoking fee, cleaning fee, guest compensation, etc.

INFESTATION

The cleanliness of our rooms is extremely important to our guests. If you bring any infestation into your room or onto our hotel premises, we may charge you for any and all costs and expenses, including immediate or urgent response requirements and loss of room revenue, that we deem necessary to address the infestation.

ILLNESS AND EPIDEMICS

The Clinton Inn reserves the right to refuse accommodations to a guest arriving with a contagious disease. In cases where sickness occurs during the stay, please notify the staff at (517) 507-5777. In the case of serious sickness, you may be requested to receive appropriate health care from a nearby healthcare facility. During epidemics, we are entitled to employ precautionary measures within our judgment or as required by local authorities. We may charge you a room cleaning fee as we deem appropriate under the circumstances.

HOTEL AMENITIES AND ACCOMMODATIONS

REFRIGERATOR AND COFFEE MAKER

All rooms have a small refrigerator and coffee maker for your convenience.

MICROWAVE/KITCHENETTE

Room 1 features a small kitchenette with a microwave, sink, coffee maker, refrigerator, table/chairs, and dishes. If you are in need of these items to make your stay more comfortable, we suggest checking our site for the availability of this room. Other rooms in the Clinton Inn do not have these amenities and it is not possible to accommodate them.

ICE MACHINE

The Clinton Inn does not have a public ice machine at this time.

ADDITIONAL BEDDING

We have an air mattress available for an additional fee per night that is available upon request. They must be selected and paid for when making your reservations.

FREE HIGH-SPEED INTERNET ACCESS (WI-FI)

Wi-Fi Internet Access is provided free to registered guests. Usage of our Wi-Fi network is subject to acceptance of our “HIGH-SPEED INTERNET TERMS AND CONDITIONS”. PARKING

There are no parking spaces located anywhere on the Clinton Inn property. The parking lot behind the Clinton Inn is owned and managed by the Village of Clinton. Parking is generally available either on the street along Michigan Avenue, along any convenient side street or in the parking lot behind the Clinton Inn. Parking anywhere in the city is free, but availability is not guaranteed.

We recommend that you use the public parking lot directly behind the Clinton Inn or across the street next to the firehouse. All vehicles are parked at the risk of the owner. The Clinton Inn shall not assume liability or responsibility for any vehicle, occupants, or contents while operated or parked in city lots.

HOUSE RULES

QUIET HOURS

Noises should be kept at a minimum during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 7 a.m. If you become aware of a disruptive guest, please contact us by telephone at (517) 507-5777.

No congregating or running in halls. Due to the architecture and historic nature of the building, noises may travel throughout the building and we ask those televisions, voices, and other devices be kept at respectful levels, especially during quiet hours. Doors should be opened and closed quietly.

VISITORS

No visitors after 10:00 p.m. Visitors must be accompanied by the registered guest at all times. As a registered guest, you are responsible for your visitors at all times.

BICYCLES/HOVERBOARDS/ROLLER BLADES

Bicycles, Hover boards, and roller blades are not permitted in guest rooms. Depending on available space, our staff will be happy to secure these items in a designated room. We assume no liability for theft, loss, and/or damage, and you waive any and all such liability. Please contact us at (517) 507-5777 to make necessary arrangements.

CHILDREN

Well-behaved children of all ages are welcome. Children aged 12 and under stay for free when sharing a room with one or more paying adult(s), using existing bedding. As the parents, guardians, or chaperones of children you are personally and legally responsible for and must supervise them at all times. For safety reasons, please do not leave children unattended in guest rooms or allow them to roam the hotel property unsupervised.

NO IN-ROOM PARTY

The Clinton Inn enforces a NO IN-ROOM PARTY POLICY to ensure we can protect the hotel and its guests at all times. No parties, loud disturbances, and/or noise nuisance are allowed or tolerated on these premises. In the event of a disturbance, one polite request (warning) will be given to reduce the noise. If our request is not followed, the guest will be asked to leave the hotel without a refund. Registered guest(s) is responsible for all persons visiting. Non-registered visitors are only permitted until 10:00 P.M. If found with more “people” not listed on your registration after 10:00 P.M. your stay will be considered a party. You will be ordered to vacate the premises without a refund and may be charged with a Guest Compensation Disturbance Fee.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY

Room occupancy requirements and limitations are based on fire code/fire safety restrictions.

MISCELLANEOUS LEGALITIES AND PROVISIONS

RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE

The Clinton Inn is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason(s) as long as it does not violate Federal or State laws. The Clinton Inn may refuse service or accommodation in our hotel and/or may remove any person, without refund, who refuses to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the State of Michigan and the owners and management of the Clinton Inn.

The Clinton Inn will absolutely refuse service or evict a guest: for refusal or failure to pay for accommodations, is under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any other intoxicating substance, and acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests or is not in compliance with state liquor laws; acts in a disorderly fashion as to disturb the peace of other guests; is unable to properly supervise their children at all times, seeks to use the hotel for an unlawful purpose; seeks to bring into the hotel: an unlawfully possessed firearm; or something, including an explosive or hazardous or toxic substance, that is unlawful to possess and that may be dangerous to other persons; destroys, damages, defaces, or threatens harm to hotel property or guests; causes or permits persons to exceed the maximum allowable occupancy of the room, refuses to abide by the reasonable standards or policies established by the Clinton Inn, the operation and management of our hotel.

ENFORCEMENT

All staff is trained and required to respond to potential violations of our Hotel Policy/House Rules. Guests who refuse to abide by the reasonable standards and policies established by the Clinton Inn for the safety of all guests, staff, owners, property, and the operation and management of the hotel will be evicted, with no refund. In addition to the room charge, a minimum $300.00 cleaning fee per room will be charged for an infraction of our Hotel Policy/House Rules.
